Disney Wish vs. Disney Treasure for Adults: Which Ship Fits Your Vacation Style?
For adults comparing Disney Wish vs. Disney Treasure, I recommend Wish for a shorter, glamorous getaway and Treasure for a full week with more time to take things a little slower. Both offer beautiful surroundings and plenty to enjoy without children. My deciding factors are atmosphere, itinerary, and how much vacation time you have, which means there is not a universal winner.
I sailed Wish for four nights in 2023 and Treasure for seven nights in 2025, both during Halloween on the High Seas. I loved both and would happily sail either again. Those three additional nights influenced my experience considerably and it does make me really wish that Wish had longer sailings. Knowing this, it’s important to know Treasure does not have magically better relaxation powers 😉
Disney Wish vs. Disney Treasure for Adults…at a Glance
| What matters to you | Disney Wish | Disney Treasure |
| My impression of the design | Light, glitzy, princess-inspired elegance | Rich jewel colors, ornate details, adventure-inspired elegance |
| My sailing experience | Four nights; more prioritizing | Seven nights; more breathing room |
| Lounges I visited | Hyperspace Lounge and The Bayou | Haunted Mansion Parlor, Periscope Pub, and Skipper Society |
| My recommendation | A shorter escape with ship time prioritized | A full-week vacation with time to explore and unwind |
These are my experiences, not promises about every departure. Check the itinerary, sailing length, and onboard offerings before booking. And of course, your own personality! You may have a different opinion for sure.
Which Ship’s Atmosphere Would You Enjoy More?
Wish feels airy, feminine, and glamorous to me, with lighter colors and gold details. I also think it photographs particularly well because of that lightness. If your vacation aesthetic leans toward elegant princess rather than moody adventure, I would steer you toward Wish.
Treasure has deeper jewel colors and ornate details that feel equally elegant but richer and moodier. Its Grand Hall draws inspiration from Aladdin, including Agrabah. I enjoyed both environments; neither felt like the less sophisticated option. You can appreciate a chandelier without needing to rank every chandelier at sea (and yes, I have seen this lol)
Does a Shorter Cruise Mean Less Relaxation?
Not necessarily, but it does require choices. On my four-night Wish sailing, fitting in meals, entertainment, lounges, and downtime meant accepting that I would not do everything.
I would choose Wish for a shorter getaway, especially if you are comfortable prioritizing the ship over excursions. On an itinerary visiting Nassau, staying onboard might suit your plans better than booking an outing simply because it is available. And I DO like Nassau, but on 3 and 4 day sailings, I do not leave the ship for this Bahamian port.
Treasure’s seven nights gave me more freedom to enjoy something today without worrying that I was sacrificing my only opportunity to do something else. It also gave me time to utilize the gym and lift weights a few times. If Wish offered a comparable longer sailing, my decision would be harder. Choose your pace before the ship itself in my opinion.
What Can Adults Do Beyond the Bars?
I visited the themed lounges on both ships and enjoyed their different personalities. Wish’s Hyperspace Lounge and The Bayou offer very different settings from Treasure’s Haunted Mansion Parlor, Periscope Pub, and Skipper Society. The theming is worth appreciating, but my adult cruise experience was not exclusively cocktail hour since I am not a drinker (as a competitive bodybuilder, it is just not in the cards for me beyond one drink haha).
I also enjoyed games, karaoke, and the silent disco. Other favorite moments were considerably quieter: reading with coffee at Cove or sitting on my balcony. Sitting on my balcony is truly my version of heaven and why you never see me getting interior rooms!
I get the coffee card because I enjoy specialty coffees and seeing which character decoration appears on top bc cast members always surprise me. Those drinks are an extra purchase in my cruise budget, but apparently adorable coffee art is an effective way to separate me from my money.
Is Palo Worth Making Time For?
For me, yes. Palo Steakhouse is available on both ships for an additional charge, and I recommend considering it if you enjoy an adult dinner with attentive service. I have experienced dinner, but I have not yet managed to book brunch.
One memorable evening involved talking with our Croatian server about his family and the property he had bought for their future. He had five children, and I have six, so we had plenty to discuss. Learning about his life made the evening personal in a way that went beyond the food and being thoroughly pampered, but that is really the Disney Cruise Line difference.
My Honest Complaints and Final Recommendation
My complaints mostly involve hours. I wished some pool-deck food options stayed open later, and I would love an evening buffet at Marceline Market. I also wished the candy-store treats were included. None ruined my vacation, but snack expectations matter and I do love food. Either way, DCL’s incredible value is why it has won me over and made me a stan for life!
Choose Wish if you want a shorter, glamorous escape and are happy to prioritize. Choose Treasure if you have a week and want more breathing room. Both gave me lively activities and quieter moments without requiring a party-centered vacation.
